Members of the Detroit Red Wings took home numerous trophies during the NHL Awards Show last night. The list includes:

Pavel Datsyuk – Selke and Lady Byng
Gordie “Mr. Hockey” Howe – Lifetime Achievement Award
Dominik Hasek and Chris Osgood – Shared the Jennings
Nicklas Lidstrom – Won his sixth Norris Trophy in the last seven years

Mike Babcock was second runner-up to Washington’s Bruce Boudreau for the Jack Adams Trophy. Chris Chelios was runner-up to Toronto’s Jason Blake for the Masterton Trophy. Henrik Zetterberg was second runner-up to Pavel Datsyuk for the Selke.

Dominic Hasek announced his retirement today from the Detroit Red Wings. According to the Hasek he is completely comfortable with his decision to retire.

“Not because of the physical things, but because I need motivation every day, to go to practice, to get ready for the season … I don’t want to disappoint anybody, I don’t want to disappoint myself, but I don’t want to disappoint the people that helped me, and I think in this case, I don’t feel that way it’s better to say goodbye.”
